Baked Apples

Serves 4

These baked apples are delicious and simple. They are rich enough to satisfy a dessert craving, but low enough in calories to help you stick to your healthy eating plan.

    Ingredients:
  • 4 Rome apples, cored
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Grape Vine Trading Co.
    pitted and dried tart cherries, chopped
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
    Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400? F.

  2. Arrange apples in a small baking dish so they don't touch one another. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, walnuts, cherries and cinnamon. Spoon into the center of the apples. Loosely cover with aluminum foil and bake 35-45 minutes, or until just tender when pierced. Serve warm.
